Thanks Ian! Any particular takeways you found most useful? I am trying to think of a way of narrow the story down.

It got way longer than I planned and I am off on so many tangents that I not sure if the point I am trying to get through is clear.

I am thinking I should find a way of turning this into multiple articles.

I think there are several separate topics:

1. How multiple countries help the chance of forming a democracy. How multiple countries protection against the rise of totalitarianism.

2. The different perspectives of a citizens of small vs large countries.

3. The impact on your economic and political system from open borders. The problem of a race to the bottom.

I think I ended up mashing all these ideas into one huge article. But that is the nature of writing. You start writing and you get carried along to some destination you had not quite planned 😀
