Thanks Markus, always very inspirational and encouraging to hear your positive feedback.

I think the importanance of openess really hits you if you are Norwegian and travel around the world. There is so much stuff we didn't invent. Yet you go to various large countries which you perceive as more technologically advanceded and yet you find often so many antiquated practices.

Case in point is e.g. the early use of internet in the public sector in Norway, while the inventor of the internet, the US has been exceptionally slow at using internet in the public sector.

Or Germany which pioneered so much of science, but which comes across as a bit conservative when it comes to using internet, electronic payment etc.

E.g. it surprised me how much startup stuff on new things like say 3D printers would happen in the Netherlands. It is something one in principle would have assumed Germany had a better foundation to pursue with its strong engineering traditions.

It doesn't seem to be much about ability, but about willigness to pursue new trends and developments.
