Not sure what you mean by cost of free things or corporate responsibility. Depends a bit on from what perspective I am answering. Somebody who grew up here or somebody moving to Norway?

For somebody working in Norway and retire it is pretty good but I cannot imagine it being ideal for somebody moving to Norway for retirement.

Beyond simple prices it can get tricky to compare since the US and Norway are such profoundly different societies operating on very different principles. I thought about comparing Norwegian and US constitution next. Could be interesting as they are quite different. For instance US constitution gets amended while the Norwegian one does not. It gets rewritten each time.
