Movable type got invented in China and later refined in Korea, but not the printing press. As I point out in the article, the printing press could not have been invented in Asia, as screws were unknown. There were know screw presses in Asia. The rapid and accurate duplication of types was also lacking in Asia. Nor was there a good ink for printing using metal types.
