That sounds like a reasonable criticism. I don't know enough about this to know how serious that problem is.

However I would still assume it is significantly less problematic than the wear and tear imposed on mechanical parts interlocking such as gears, axels etc.

If a well oiled engine can run for decades I assume a fluidics system can run for far longer time.
