This has nothing to do with "...matter too" type of logic but that the premise of the article being faulty.

There is no specific mispronounciation of Asian names. There is a mispronounciation of EVERY foreign name.

Should American put a bit more effort in getting names pronounce correctly? Absolutely.

But let us be real. Lots of names can never be pronounced easily abroad.

I gave my kids English names, because I know Norwegian names are often badly pronounced abroad.

I have struggled to meet people at airports because the American employee was unable to pronounce the Norwegian name over the loudspeaker.

But this isn't unique to America. Norwegian names could get even more mangled in France.

Misprounciations is something I can tolerate. It is worse in my opinion of people cannot write correctly names. My children have a Chinese middle name. This gets written wrong all the time despite people actually reading it, and not hearing it from me.
