Very strange to cover all sorts of other social issues and simply skip over race. One of the most profound driving forces in world history. Like how would you explain World War II to people if race was off the table?
How would you explain the American Civil war if race was not a topic to be discussed?
A lot of world history and a lot of things in our society makes absolutely no sense if we simply sweep theh issue of race under the rug.
And I say this as someone who can get pretty tired of all the "Dear white people" style articles. I think the history of racism and how it has shaped societies is very important.
However the whole Robin DeAngelo and White Fragility angle is pretty worn out. Read Trevor Noah instead. A much better take on race and racism.
