We are starting to get a lot more resources now. Pack Publishing had a book aimed at Data Scientists which I found quite good. For learning the language itself and learn how to approach problems in a Julia way I made a video course for Packt Publishing called Getting Started with Julia.

I am not a data scientist myself but I work in somewhat related domain and have used a lot of programming languages over the years, so my perspective was trying to get people who are typically used to object oriented programming to understand how you solve problems in Julia.

I also show how to think about debugging and optimization which may not be obvious how you do if you come from a statically typed language such as C++ or Java.
