When I argue for ceding land it is for their benefit not for mine. It doesn’t directly affect me. Putin will never leave Ukraine with these failures without anything to show for it. It was is the same reason the US spent decades in Vietnam and Iraq despite failure.

It is the psychology of a poker player and gambler. When we have lost a lot we don’t want to give up.

To think Russia will suddenly give up is naive. They will throw all they got in. If they keep loosing the hey will use more brutality and ever more terrible weapons. It will not be good for Ukrainian civilians who will suffer the consequences.

You say we should “find a solution together” Well, this is a one possible solution. It doesn’t seem like you are looking for solutions. You have just decided that the only solution is full capitulation of Russia. How is that even remotely realistic?

Or rather I do think Ukraine can win in the end but only after extreme losses and a long time. Give up some of Ukraine and people will have peace. It is a large country. Those who don’t want to live in a Russia can move to Ukraine.

But of course it is not my choice. It is the choice of the Ukrainian people. They will have to decide how much they are willing to suffer to achieve victory.

Russians don’t really have a choice in the matter as Putin has made the choice for them.
