While I don't like the term white privilege, I am also a big fan of "Superior" by Angela Saini. It is a very good book to put racism, in particular scientific racism in context.
Once you have read it, you start seeing these constalations of people and ideologies she describes all over the place.
I have started on her earlier book "Inferior" but not managed to get equally into it.
Ireland itself I think is a good example of dividing the world into whties and non-whites when speaking about prejudice and racism becomes too simplistic.
Being Irish has certainly not been a privilege for several hundred years. The English of the past had no less problems with starving millions of Irish to death than they had with starving Indians to death.
