While I don't want to diminish your experience, there is a danger with having experienced a lot of prejudice that you interpret all bad situations as the outcome of racism.
I am white and getting ignored at the store, restaurant or whatever place is pretty normal. I get that it is different when you are a minority because you cannot shake the feeling whether it is because of who you are or the other guy just being a dick.
I have been denied entry to clubs, the guard told me I was not on the guest list. Except there was no guest list and I already had a friend there who came over to ask what was going on. Then the guard had to hurry and invent some reason why I was let in anyway.
If I had been a person of color, I can imagine it would have been hard to read that situation as anything but racism. Yet this illustrates that people can decide they don't like you, don't think you are cool enough or whatever for almost any reason which does not need to have anything to do with race.
