Why not focus on actually helping marginalized minorities instead of hating on white people? Focus on those opposing necessary change rather than arbitrarily singling out people based on skin color.
Focus on people’s ideology rather than skin color as people can actually make a choice about ideology but not skin color.
Edit: Clarification of “hating on white people”
The article was a response to a person suggesting that white people should go around feeling guilt about the past. Essentially promoting a narrative as white people as the perpetual bad guys of the world. Morlock tried to show that one cannot depict slavery as some sort of uniquely white misdeed.
When you push back against, this it gives the impression that you there is something invalid about clarifying that slavery was not uniquely white. This gives the impression that you reject the attempt at presenting a more nuanced view of the history of slavery. You want to retain a narrative where whites play the lead role.
My response to that is that this is essentially the same as promoting hatred of white people. Why should a story which brings more nuance to slavery be rejected? Why is it bad that whites no longer get to play the exclusive role of the grand villain of history?
To me it is a bit like objecting to a story which talks about Germans who fought Nazism on the grounds that it may give the impression that not every German was a Nazi.
And I am talking about public discourse here and not what you and me as individuals promote. I am not suggesting that you as an individual is directly promoting hatred of whites. I am simply asking why a narrative which could promote hatred of whites should not be challenged.
