Why The West is Better Than Russia and China

How can the West claim moral superiority when it has colonized and invaded all across the world? Is it not hypocritical of the West to criticize Russian and Chinese human rights abuses?

Russia committing one horrible atrocity after the other in Ukraine. Chinese state media refuse to condemn Russia but instead seek to place all the blame on the West. The narrative is about how the evil West lured Russia into Ukraine. They both are just helpless pawns in the game of power and dominance played by the West.

Russia is absolved of all guilt for starting the war and Ukraine is infantilized as a country and a people without any desires wants or desires of its own. Ukrainian desire for NATO membership is brushed away as simply an idea implanted into the heads of Ukrainians by the wicked an manipulative West. That Ukrainians might want to security for their nation against a country which oppressed them for decades is apparently unthinkable for Putin and Xi apologists.

This debate quickly turns in a question of who holds the moral high ground. As a Westerner I must say that the West has a pretty bad history. We have colonized and invaded all across the world. We have engaged in slavery. Who are we to judge anyone?
