What convinced me back then was the crazy performance of the high end iPads. I remember using the latest models in the Apple store and thinking: This thing can do anything you want and it is so responsive. Why would a latop need any other chip that this?

Ironically my prediction was that Arm based macs would be slower than Intel ones but cooler and cheaper. I had not actually predicted they would outperform Intel on single core preformance. That was quite a feat.
