Yeah attacking Russia is of course a whole different ball game due to its sheer size and the fact that Russian would fight with a lot more motivation and the open plains would benefit their large numbers in a way that it wouldn't in the difficult terrains of the Nordics.

As for nuclear. Kind of boring analysis then isn't it? Like that just means game over. Can anybody be said to be winning or loosing? We will all be losers.

I guess for me as a Nordic my personal interest would mostly be in our ability to defend against a Russian attack as we have no interest in attacking them. And if we did attack them I can only see that as part of a much larger international force meant to put Russia in its place after it has acted rouge and broken all rules of decency in the international community getting a UN decree against themselves or something.

As for nuclear weapons. I have at times pondered whether conventional weapons matter. If there is nuclear war none of your regular weapons will really matter. But I suspect nuclear weapons will mainly be used in defense. That means one realistic restriction for a Nordic defense would be that defense through attacks inside of Russia would likely be off limits.
