Yeah, I don't think it was easy to predict. I am a tech guy and I f*cked this up with own kids. I have since become very skeptical to uncritical embrace of technology. But I guess being wrong is okay. What matters is if we are able to learn from our mistakes. That we can roll back or find ways to undo harmful choices.

I think government needs to come in an push a change in how tech companies operate. It could be a combination of telling them "you need to voluntarily change your ways or we will do it for you" or just straight out legislation or building of alternative platforms.
