Yeah I think that if Europe to a stronger more independent position it would ultimately help Americans who believe in democracy and rule of law. Today the US gets a pass on too many things because Europe is too eager to keep the alliance. A more independent Europe could apply more pressure towards the US on how it treats its own citizens, and its slide into autocracy.
