Yeah Matthew, while I clearly favor a proportional representation system, I am pragmatic enough to see that a ranked choice system is the most realistic for the US right now.

If the US should ever get to proportional representation it may have to go through ranked voting first. It means the smallest change to the system Americans are already used to, while also giving a pretty big improvement.

I think a form of ranked choice is how Macron managed to win in France despite starting an entirely new party. That would be quite unthinkable in the US today.

How exactly did Alaska end up with ranked voting though?
