Yeah oxidation reduction is pretty big thing. I should find a way of writing about that at some point. I think I also need to develop my own bigger picture of it as well.

I love history and there is perhaps a way of combining that with a treatment of how so many of our most important chemical reactions through history, whether creating pure metals or exploding gunpowder involves a redox reaction.

On the last part "Balanced equations" you may have to fill me in. Not sure what you had in mind.

From chemistry class I remember how balancing equations was always a big focus. But I suspect you have something different in mind?

I kind of wanted to focus on the things that are sort of said between the lines. The common thread that isn't focused that much one. The insight you probably gain from doing this for many years, but which is not readily apparent to students.
