Yeah, that is the strong benefit of full vertical integration. It becomes much easier to change the hardware platform because they also control the software platform.

By the time the PC world has managed to move over to ARM maybe Apple is already on some awesome new RISC-V chip architture. Who knows.

Now Apple has the in house competence to build kickass chips, so they can in principle do whatever they want in the future.
