Yes I have thought about mentioning Rust, although I am not sure if Rust necessarily adds to the discussion.

It is something to ponder. It is a bit harder to characterize in the whole narrative I wrote. It is definitely an interesting language to discuss as it has some of the same conceputal challenges as Haskell yet has managed to get relatively popular.
