You are really talking about New World concepts of racism. Colorism is a concept in South America e.g.

Racism needs not be about color, in fact racism in Europe has seldom deal with skin color at all. The skin color emphasis is an Americanism.

If racism was only about skin color, then we would have to rewrite history and delcare that Nazi Germany was not a racist dictatorship, and say they simply had "prejudice" against Jews and Slavs.

In the Nazi pseudo scientific race categorization both Jews and Slavs got labeled subhuman (untermensch).

And this was by no means the only racism in Europe. The Irish did get labeled as a lesser race by the English. Yet there is no skin color difference. Thus you cannot even label this colorism. It has nothing to do with skin color.

It is kind of imperialist of America to try to impose its understand of racism upon the rest of the world. To insist that all other nations in the world should interpret and see their history of racism and discrimination using an American lens using American termology and concepts.
