You are right that if your are really into games, then Windows is a better choice. Personally I don’t find lack of Windows a problem as between iPad, PS4 and Steam on macOS I get pretty much anything I want to play.

But I suppose things can change. There will always be some AAA games running on Mac and if future Macs can give superior performance at superior price there could be an increasing cohort of gamers who want to play some specific games with good performance who switch to Mac. With more gamers on Mac, studios would have a stronger incentive to port games.

Honestly Apple should have made some deal with Nintendo. They use ARM CPUs anyway. They could make a great gaming platform with the M1.
