You make me thing of how persecution of Jews was rationalized with "they drink the blood of our children."

The modern version is that liberals are hunting for your children to cut their dicks off and turn them into transgirls. Nothing like playing on peoples emotions. We all care so much about our children and their welfare so any political movement which can be framed as coming for our children can easily be demonized.

You are an example of how the right plays this game to assume authoritarian power. Dehumanize your opponents as someone hurting children. That way you rationalize the usage of extreme measures against your opponents.

I am not even American man. In my native Norway children with gender dysphoria do get a mental evaluation. Sometimes gender affirmative medical care isn't the right approach.

But other times this is the right approach. You are not scientific if you think we can more effectively treat gender dysphoria mental health care than gender affirming medical procedures and treatments in every case.

It is of course invasive and best avoided but in Norway we have a long negative history of rejecting this treatment specifically because we have been so leftist that we ignored biology. We thought gender is alone something that is socialized and there are no biological factors involved.

Specifically this has catastrophic outcome for intersex children in Norway. Because they are born with both genitalia the belief was that one needed to operate on them so they would be like either a boy or a girl. Since the belief was that gender is primarily socialized we operated everyone to be girls.

The result was a disaster. Suicide prevalence was very high among intersex children in Norway. Once the medical profession accepted that you cannot just socialize a gender they began doing various medical tests to determine what would be the most suitable gender for the child and they operated accordingly.

After this was done, the suicide rate dropped like a stone. In other words we accepted that the gender humans feel matters and we cannot in many case socialize them out of that or use therapy.

This is a question of being pragmatic. The US left and right are being far too ideological. The children should come before your ideological beliefs. Place trust in the science over ideological dogma.

And finally stop making this issue the defining one for the election. It affects a vanishingly few children. There are far more serious issues affecting significantly more people such as bodily autonomy for women.
