You seem to agree with my point though. Being overlooked does not need to imply racism. The author was certain that was the case, while not reflecting at all about alternative explanations.
It is as also telling that nearly every commenter assumed the assessment of the author was right , that this was a case of racism. Yet none of them saw the situation or knew anyone involved.
Should we indulge in the echo chamber or dare add some nuance?
It is possible to empathize with someone while also disagreeing with them.
